Neben Trüffel und Safran, zu deren bedeutendsten Lieferanten die Abruzzen zählen, dürfen vor allem Peperoncino und Pasta in der Küche nicht fehlen. Eine besonders schöne Tradition gibt es in der Stadt Sulmona, die bekannt für ihr "confetti" ist. Die süßen Köstlichkeiten - außen eine zarte Zuckerschale, innen eine Mandel -, werden gerne zu Hochzeiten verschenkt. William Di Carlo ist einer der ältesten Hersteller und bekannt für seine ausgefallenen Kreationen.

Natürlich spielt auch Wein eine wichtige Rolle in den Abruzzen: Den perfekten Begleiter finden die kulinarischen Highlights in regionalen Weinen wie dem international bekannten Montepulciano d`Abruzzo oder den beiden weißen autochthonen Rebsorten Passerina und Pecorino.
